Amazing Racer Chip Arndt Leads Smart AIDS Ride
Originally scheduled for last November but postponed due to damage from Hurricane Wilma, the SMART Ride kicked off early Friday morning, January 6th, with Amazing Race winner Chip Arndt leading hundreds of riders for the second time. From Miami, they will ride 165 miles to closing ceremonies Saturday at the AIDS Memorial in Key West where Arndt will speak.

Stonewall Knights Ride For Fun & Charity
This November, The Stonewall Knights, Florida's motorcycle club for Gay men, will ride the 180 scenic miles from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West. The Knights will depart from Java Boys in Wilton Manors on Saturday morning, November the 6th and return home on Monday, November the 8th.

Straight Couples Claim Discrimination At Key West Gay Hotel
Three straight couples say they were told to leave a Key West hotel because they are not gay, even though they were on vacation with a same-sex couple and all had reservations. The couples, all from the San Diego area, say they had checked in at Big Ruby's and were in their rooms when the manager knocked on their doors and said they would have to leave.

Florida Gay Adoption Ban Upheld

A federal appeals court has upheld Florida's ban on gay adoption. In a written ruling the court rejected a challenge by four gay men to the 1977 law. "We exercise great caution when asked to take sides in an ongoing public policy debate, such as the current one over the compatibility of homosexual conduct with the duties of adoptive parenthood," wrote Judge Stanley Birch.
