Gay Key West
Aside from its natural beauty, Key West’s warm, come as you are atmosphere is one of the main reasons for the island’s popularity with gay and lesbian visitors. Key West is a safe and gay-friendly place to be open and relaxed, to make new friends, and be embraced by the small town’s live and let live philosophy. It¹s no wonder gay men and women feel more themselves on this subtropical island than anywhere else in the world that’s why many become permanent residents.

Key West’s Quirky Charm
By Aefa Mulholland
At the end of a 126-mile long highway that travels over 42 bridges, 100 islands and three National Historic Sites, Key West really is the end of the road. I was introduced to the singular charms of this lesbian and gay-adored resort town at a splendidly out-of-season Key West New Year party in Miami. Key West made a great first impression.

Key West: Florida's Anything Goes Gay Getaway
By Ed Walsh

Key West
By Peter Tatchell
Key West lies at the end of the world's longest dead end street - a 113-mile road that arcs southward from Miami into the heart of the tropical Caribbean. A tiny coral isle four miles square, it is the southernmost point in the USA, just 90 miles north of Cuba. Situated in the heart of the hurricane zone, somehow it survives against the all the odds. Perhaps that's part of its queer appeal.
